Aimed at raising the confidence of teachers when dealing with controversial and contentious issues in school. Assigned mentors will work with senior leaders in school on a process of self-evaluation to establish areas for improvement and agree smart objectives. Pathways of support will then be agreed on, and support provided throughout the year to achieve desired and agreed measureable outcomes. The programme is designed for secondary schools, but can be adapted for primary use. It was initially commissioned by the RE Council and the DfE, resources and support documents are available that can be used when teaching, to help counter the use of religious justifications for violence, extremism and injustice.
